Digital Billboard

Products: Displays Engineered to Deliver a Higher Lever of Performance

Given the rising popularity (and profitability) of digital LED billboard advertising (along with the significant equipment investment costs), it's important to make sure your displays not only function when they’re new, but can maintain high performance over the long-term.

What's unique about our displays is their ability to perform in an outdoor direct sunlight environment. We incorporate a higher density of diodes - which allows greater efficiency for the LEDs, provides clear viewing all day long, assures vibrant color consistency and extends the life of your display. Most manufacturers provide only minimal diode density and compensate for lower NIT (cd/M2) by using narrow beam (900 or less) LEDs. This can lead to inaccurate colors, decreased contrast, premature fading and loss of audience potential.

Our patented Hybrid Pixel system solves all of the problems inherent with typical LED displays, including direct sunlight functionality, long-term life and serviceability. A key advantage to our Hybrid pixel design is its plug and play interchangeability. If a pixel fails or is damaged, rather than replacing an entire circuit board/module that usually consists of 64 or 256 pixels, our pixels snap in and out individually. This eliminates the typical "tile" effect that results when a large 16 x 16 pixel replacement module stands out from the surrounding modules because it doesn't match the existing display's brightness, due to variations in the degradation rate of the original modules versus the replacement module. With Optec Digital Billboards's plug and play hybrid pixels, even if the replacement pixel is brighter than the rest of the display, it is small enough to be virtually unnoticeable. Another advantage is our exclusive individual diode shading system. By shading each LED individually, you are assured of maximum contrast and clear readability - even in direct sunlight. No other LED display manufacturer offers this protection.

Led Facts: Facts About LED Digital Billboards

FACT:: NOT ALL LED DIGITAL BILLBOARDS ARE BUILT THE SAME.

As a matter of fact, there is a wide variation between how all LED display manufacturers build their displays. So in order to make a sound business decision you need to look beyond the hype and understand how digital LED billboards are built and why.

FACT:: 3 DOES NOT EQUAL 5.

Optec incorporates 5 LEDs per pixel in our 20mm and 23mm models. Most, if not all of our major competitors use 3. This means that other LED billboards must work harder to achieve the same brightness, color depth and daylight legibility (especially in direct sunlight) as an Optec digital billboard - which results in accelerated depletion of the LEDs and premature fading.

FACT:: OPTEC BUILDS IN RESERVE CAPACITY TO REDUCE FADING AND EXTEND BILLBOARD LIFE.

The fact is, all LED billboards fade over time. The difference is - at what rate? With our higher density of LED diodes, our displays can be operated at lower power levels to extend the life of your display and deliver more value for your investment dollars. But more importantly - it protects your ability to display your clients’ advertisements and brand images with accurate, vibrant colors over your LED billboard’s entire life. And we back our displays with a comprehensive 5-year warranty and nationwide 5-year Onsite Service and Support Plan - all at no extra cost.

Life Comparison: LED Degradation Curve

Degradation Curve

By increasing our diode density (LEDs / Sq. Meter), you are assured that our displays will not fade away and lose contrast, color accuracy and color depth as happens with many typical LED displays. To illustrate this, we’ve compared the degradation curve of our 5-LED 20 mm pixel with the average 3-LED pixel produced by most manufacturers.

Construction: Resilent Cabinets Display

Ultimately, LED displays are only as good as the cabinets that house them. From components, service panel design, to water proofing and heat ventilation, Optec Digital Billboards’s engineers are continuously working on improving our cabinets.

Our cabinets come standard as fully enclosed sealed cabinets with no outside air exchange. This protects our displays from pollutants improves reliability and extends display life. Thermostatically controlled fail-safe cooling systems are also available for extreme high temperature climates. These innovations are just another way that Optec Digital Billboards protects your digital outdoor advertising investment and helps you achieve a higher ROI.

Communications: Control Options

Ethernet

Ethernet communication to isplays on a LAN or WAN network less than 300 feet away. Addit ional Ethernet serial server is not required.

Fiber Optic

Hard-wired multimode or single-mode fiber optic cable for communications over 300 feet or in areas where high EMF interference is encountered. Maximum distance is 2.5 miles.

Wireless Ethernet

Ethernet communications to displays on a LAN or WAN network. Instead of using cables, it sends Ethernet Data over Wireless Bridge dev ices. Requires clear line of sight. Maximum tested distance by Optec is 0.5 miles.
